Neon EVM, an Ethereum Virtual Machine, allows developers to scale Ethereum dApps through Solana as the settlement layer.

As a fully Ethereum-compatible environment, Neon EVM  is designed to allow Ethereum dApps to take full advantage of the functionality native to Solana, including parallel execution of transactions. This will enable dApps to operate with high transaction speed, low gas fees, and high throughput of Solana.

Notably, Neon EVM provides a unique opportunity to developers who want to unlock access to the liquidity on Solana, enjoy a first-mover advantage, and reach new customers on Solana.

By choosing Solana, Neon EVM has eliminated the gap between two leading blockchains while ensuring the finality of settlements on Solana. Currently, Solana is one of the fastest organically growing chains. Solana’s incompatibility with EVM has attracted millions of users, with hundreds of millions in TVL. The chain has an entire ecosystem untouched by EVM multichain dApp developers.

Neon EVM is the first EVM on Solana, with an easy Smart contract adaption. In addition to scalability benefits and Solana’s growing ecosystem, Neon EVM also has familiar smart contract languages and Ethereum-based tools like Truffle and MetaMask.

The Neon EVM team recently launched a closed beta version, Neon EVMβ Solana’s mainnet. Despite the working similarity to a fully functioning Neon EVM, Neon EVMβ supports fee-free transactions. The beta launch was fundamental in allowing all players within the Neon EVM ecosystem to deploy and test Neon EVMβ to ensure the seamless integration of their services before the official Solana Mainnet launch. Reportedly, launching directly to the Mainnet offers the project many significant advantages, including having the deployed and tested contracts retain their addresses on Solana Mainnet.

The closed beta launch was done in two phases. In the first phase, the Neon EVM team onboarded the infrastructure components. During the second phase, the team accepted dApps and planned test wallet connections.

NEON, a utility and governance token, will run the Neon EVM ecosystem. NEON will be used to pay for all Neon EVM transactions, including Neon operators. NEON holders can propose and vote on changes to the Neon protocol.

The project is still under development, with the team planning to roll out Neon DAO, Integration with The Graph, Chainlinl and Pyth, launch grant programs, and much more.

Neon EVM is currently deployed to the Solana Mainnet at the address NeonVMyRX5GbCrsAHnUwx1nYYoJAtskU1bWUo6JGNyG, however since this is a closed beta, it won’t accept your transactions unless you are on the guest list.
