Watford Football Club and its online betting sponsor, Coingaming.io have updated the terms of the contract and the Bitcoin logo will now be placed on the sleeves of the club’s jersey.
The Bitcoin logo will be on Watford’s shirt sleeves throughout the 2019/2020 season, a move that would further create awareness about Bitcoin and the innovative Sportsbet.io platform.
The initiative is part of a broader campaign to boost awareness of cryptos and educate the masses on the benefits of using cryptocurrencies.
Commenting on the innovative initiative, Justin Le Brocque, Head of Sportsbet.io Marketing reiterated that:
“The crypto community has been massively supportive of us since our beginnings, so putting the Bitcoin logo on the sleeve felt like a fun way to give back while also showing our support for the community.”
The sponsorship will be crowdfunded, making it possible for bitcoin holders to share in the perks enjoyed by Watford FC sponsors.
Contributors will be able to bid for public LED space shown live during matches “ Money can’t buy, but Bitcoin can’ experiences, which includes the use of the Bitcoin box for 8 people and exclusive Watford FC merchandise.
“Some of the greatest challenges we and others like us face are raising awareness, dispelling common myths around cryptos and educating the public on the advantages and opportunities presented by cryptocurrencies. Our partnership with Watford marks a major disruption in the world of traditional sports sponsorship, and by adding the Bitcoin logo we hope this world’s first sponsorship will create even more buzz around cryptos,” Le Brocque added.
To commemorate this significant milestone in the crypto space, Sportsbet.io is giving away 2 mbtc free Bet to all Sportsbet.io users, should Watford score against Arsenal this Sunday.
Interestingly, Sportsbet.io inked a three-year deal with Watford FC last month, making the platform the first blockchain and crypto firm to put its name at the front of a top football club’s shirt.
The announcement also coincides with the launch of Sportbet.io’s “Know No Borders” campaign, which aims to put players at the heart of the game irrespective of their country, sport, team or currency.
Sportsbet.io supports a vast array of fiat and cryptos including bitcoin, providing gamers with the very best in fun, fast and fair gaming.
“Placing the Bitcoin logo on a Premier League shirt is something that challenges the accepted norm. We’re excited about the partnerships and the potential for new global conversations that it could help start for our club,” declared Scott Duxbury, Hornets’ Chairman, and CEO.
