The Summit urged organizations to sign the Investors’ Bill of Rights; First cryptocurrency financial literacy course launched.
(ATLANTA, May 26, 2022) –Operation HOPE held a Cryptocurrency + Digital Assets Summit Operation today, which brought together a prominent team of professionals from the regulatory sector and digital finance to discuss the significance of digital assets in the current marketplace. The conference was co-hosted by Operation HOPE Founder and CEO John Hope Bryant and Interim Comptroller of the Currency Michael Hsu and was titled “The Crypto Revolution: For Better or For Worse.”
Leading speakers from the corporate and public sectors discussed the potential and difficulties related to crypto and digital commodities such as NFTs and tokens at the first HOPE Global Forums Cryptocurrency and Digital Assets Summit. Regulators in the United States, along with the federal government’s three leading officers instructed on topics such as policies impacting crypto and substitute currencies, and exchanged views on developing a set of laws that prioritizes consumer safety without limiting innovation.
“The rise in digital assets creates an opportunity to reinforce American leadership in the global financial system and bridge the gap for all— especially those who have historically been disenfranchised. But we must do it right,” said John Hope Bryant, Founder, Chairman and CEO of Operation HOPE. “Education, transparency, and a long-term commitment from key partners is essential to ensuring a win for all.”
The following are some of the conference’s noteworthy points:
- The launch of the world’s first Cryptocurrency Financial Literacy Curriculum. To construct the curriculum, Operation HOPE CEO John Hope Bryant and Professor Tonya Evans of Penn State University School of Law will organize a blue-ribbon team of technology, business, and finance luminaries.
- An invitation to other industry leaders to join the Investors’ Bill of Rights, a nationwide initiative that pushes businesses and significant institutions to pledge openness and financial awareness for investors. The 10-point Bill of Rights is grounded by Operation HOPE’s three decades of experience delivering free financial literacy services, coaching and credit counseling to more than 4 million people.

“The future of America depends on how we proactively address new digital assets. I am excited to work with some of the most accomplished and innovative minds in America who are willing to help educate our next generation of leaders so that they can harness the full power of technology to build strong communities,” Bryant added. “Their unique experiences and areas of expertise will help us find a path forward that benefits anyone who wants to explore— and ultimately take advantage of – this new digital frontier.”
Digital assets, such as cryptocurrencies, have exploded in value in the past few years, reaching a market valuation of $3 trillion last November, up from $14 billion just five years ago. According to surveys, roughly 40 million adults in the United States have invested in, traded, or utilized cryptocurrencies. Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs), a digital version of a country’s sovereign currency, are being tested in over 100 nations.
