World’s third most visited cryptocurrency exchange, Bybit, has introduced its Velocity Series in partnership with Oracle Red Bull Racing and renowned digital artists. Marking the first-ever collaboration between an F1 team and artists, the development seeks to create unique digital collectibles inspired by race team data and telemetry from the RB19 F1 car.
Following its design, the Velocity Series will showcase the creative talents of top digital artists, with the first collection spearheaded by Rik Oostenbroek, a highly acclaimed Dutch artist known for his dynamic shapes and abstract forms across various disciplines.
The series is curated with AOI, a foundation for emerging art and technology. Meanwhile, it will consist of four releases coinciding with the Dutch, Japanese, United States, and Abu Dhabi Grand Prix during the 2023 Formula 1 season. Per the announcement, each release will feature a range of NFT collections, including a limited-edition NFT collection exclusively accessible to holders of the Velocity Pass and a publicly available open-edition sale. The Velocity Pass, a first-of-its-kind in motorsport, is a dynamic work of art that evolves throughout the season and serves as a premium NFT granting front-row access to the ongoing narrative of the Velocity Series and numerous utilities for art enthusiasts.
Pass holders will have the exclusive opportunity to participate in holder-exclusive NFT sales at each of the four Velocity Series releases, securing digital masterpieces by the featured artists. Additionally, pass holders will receive complimentary open-edition NFTs at each release, adding further value to their collections. Beyond the digital art experience, Velocity Pass holders will also gain access to Oracle Red Bull Racing experiences and have chances to win rare prizes from both Oracle Red Bull Racing and Bybit.
Caroline Buckland, Head of Fan Engagement from Oracle Red Bull Racing, expressed excitement about the collaboration, stating, “We are extremely excited about teaming up with Bybit and this group of hugely talented artists for the Velocity Series. The NFTs released as part of the series are limited editions and truly capture the essence of the Team’s prowess and progressive performance. Each collection is unique to the artists’ particular style, making them highly sought after by collectors and fans.”
Anndy Lian, Head of Partnerships at Bybit, also commented on the development highlighting the strategic importance of the Velocity Series, saying, “As long-term and strategic partners, Bybit and Oracle Red Bull Racing are excited to launch the Velocity Series, which brings together the creative talents of some of the world’s best digital artists with cutting-edge technology, enabling us to leverage our respective strengths and further advance our position in the rapidly-evolving Web3 era.
