Bitget, a prominent player in the world of cryptocurrency exchange and Web3 technology, recently announced Gracy Chen’s appointment as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Gracy Chen will assume the role in May 2024, taking over from Sandra Lou, who will depart to pursue her entrepreneurial endeavors. Gracy’s extensive experience in business management, marketing, and investment has solidified her position as a prominent female entrepreneur in the crypto industry.
Since 2014, Gracy, a prominent TV host, has been captivated by the ever-evolving realm of blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies. Her encounters with well-informed guests like Tim Draper have further deepened her fascination. Every interview she conducted enhanced her show and intensified her intrigue with this rapidly developing industry. Her increasing interest in the subject led her to invest in multiple crypto startups, including Bitkeep (now known as Bitget Wallet), Asia’s largest Web 3 multi-chain wallet.
In June 2022, Gracy joined Bitget as its first Managing Director (MD), spearheading Bitget’s growth strategies as the platform ramps up its global expansion plan. Throughout the past two years, her remarkable talent for leading and motivating global decentralized teams has played a crucial role in successfully navigating cryptocurrency’s dynamic and fiercely competitive world. In just one year, the activity has formed partnerships with more than 50 educational institutions and has provided benefits to over 6,000 young talents. As a prominent contributor to Bitget’s #Blockchain4Her initiative, she envisions a future prioritizing inclusivity and gender diversity within the blockchain industry. She aims to create equal opportunities and representation for women in this groundbreaking sector, paving the way for a more sustainable future.
Gracy is actively looking for ways to positively impact the cryptocurrency industry in addition to her work at Bitget. With an impressive portfolio that includes contributions to renowned publications like Forbes and Cointelegraph, she has shared her expertise through more than 50 articles, enlightening the masses about the wonders of blockchain technology. She is also recognized as a judge on the first reality crypto TV show, Killer Whales, a program co-created by Hollywood producers. The show is dedicated to uncovering promising Web 3 projects and empowering them to create tangible real-world change. Her impressive achievements led to her being recognized as a Global Shaper by the World Economic Forum in 2015, and she was elected to the prestigious Forbes Business Council in 2023.
Gracy has a Bachelor’s Degree from the National University of Singapore (NUS) and an MBA from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
