Smartlink, a suite of decentralized applications built on the Tezos blockchain, is launching a Tezos-based launchpad for NFTs. The platform will be for only exclusive, curated NFTs, and will be a place for some of the rarest curated NFTs on the internet. The aim is to make Tezos’ cleaner and greener ecosystem available to artists and to make exclusive and curated NFTs more appealing to the NFT community. This is coming on the heels of the exponential growth of Non-fungible Tokens in 2021.
Through the new launchpad, artists will be able to connect with an established community, a suite of tools, and open potential partnerships, as well as list NFTs through blind and open auctions. The NFT launchpad will also grant the community and other users access to the best NFTs with exciting features such as blind minting, auctions, etc.
NFT owners can initiate auctions with the required settings within a predetermined period during which bidders can place bids. Ownership of the NFT is then transferred to the highest bidder and funds are transferred to the initial owner. A fraction of the funds will be taken to cover management fees by Smartlink and royalties paid to the NFT issuer, while the remaining bidders are refunded after the auction is over.
Each artist will be assigned a page with customized layouts for blind and open auctions. These are bids in which the bidders are not aware of bids by other users and ones in which bidders are aware of all other bids respectively. The dedicated NFT page will have features such as average big amount, bid history, auction timer, and NFT stats, such as views and likes.
Blind minting
The Smartlink launchpad will feature blind minting. It is a situation in which the user can’t see what will be minted or what will become their property. This gives every minter and original NFT buyer an equal chance to get the rare ones as each user pays the same entry price. The users have no idea what level of rarity they will receive since most NFTs have various levels of rarity. Everyone will however get an NFT which will be revealed after the minting process or when the overall collection sales are over.
The first NFTs to be released on the Smartlink NFT launchpad is SMURKS. It will also be the first NFT drop for the Smartlink community. Smartlink is launching this in partnership with Metaverse and some upcoming NFT projects which will be revealed as the launch date for the Smartlink launchpad draws closer.
The launchpad will be an addition to other existing platforms on Smartlink which include an escrow smart contract protocol, a crypto-friendly marketplace for goods and services, and a decentralized exchange. Tezos’ higher transaction throughput, security standards, and negligible network congestion make it ideal for Smartlink. The Tezos network’s formal verification which eliminates errors that come with smart contracts also makes the platform good for such a project. The launchpad is scheduled for launch in Q1 2022.
