Tesla and SpaceX CEO is not a stranger to the crypto world. Many different times, Musk has made several comments about the cryptocurrency space and his feelings about some assets. Even though he never really gives too many details, he is quite easily crypto’s favorite non-crypto personality. Now, he has come out to reveal his support, however indirectly, for Dogecoin.

In a recent tweet, the Tesla CEO proves that he is keen on the crypto industry enough to have a favorite asset. The tweet indirectly endorses Dogecoin.

Musk had initially tweeted a picture of a dog with the caption “Dogs Rock.” A few minutes later, he replied the first tweet saying:

“They have the best coin”.

This, without a doubt, is another pronouncement in favor of Dogecoin.

This isn’t the first time Elon Musk is publicly endorsing the asset. Sometime last year, he tweeted support for the coin after a poll held on April fool’s Day where he was jokingly selected as the CEO of Dogecoin. The poll had him in competition with a few other popular crypto personalities including Vitalik Buterin, Charlie Lee and Marshall Hayner. At the time, he tweeted:

“Dogecoin might be my fav cryptocurrency. It’s pretty cool.”

Dogecoin entered the market on the 6th of December 2013. It was not originally intended to be in any serious competition with other digital assets. It started as a “Joke Currency” but quickly garnered a devoted following in a very short time. In January 2014, after about a month, Dogecoin’s market cap hit $60 million.

At the moment, Dogecoin is the 33rd largest crypto asset in the market, with a market cap larger than $299 million. It is trading at $0.0024.

Whether or not Musk holds any DOGE is unknown. The CEO is popular for smart retorts and playful statements but has not confirmed if anything has happened between now and last year when he was playfully appointed CEO.
