Binance, the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange by volume, is hosting an NFT auction on its Binance NFT Marketplace on July 27th, 2021 with the winner of the auction getting a free buy into a Virtue Poker tournament which is grabbing the headlines and causing quite a stir among the Twitterati too.

CZ, the founder of Binance, has tweeted about the tournament and Phil Ivey, who is considered the Tiger Woods of Poker, has offered CZ a seat at the table, to which CZ accepted.

Who is CZ, Binance?

CZ, whose real name is Changpeng Zhao, is a Chinese-Canadian coder who started out by building high-frequency trading systems for Wall Street traders. He now owns an approximately 30% stake in Binance, giving him an approximate wealth of $1.9 billion.

“The Phil Ivey Golden Ticket NFT”  marks a collaboration between the multiple world series poker champions Phil Ivey, the  Binance Smart Chain, and the world’s first regulated peer-to-peer poker platform, Virtue Poker. The Celebrity Poker Tournament will see Ethereum Co-Founder Joe Lubin, NBA Hall of Fame player Paul Pierce, YouTube phenomenon Mr. Beast, and Hollywood actor Vince Vaughn all sitting around  a table together with the winner of the NFT auction

The move into NFTs for this Chinese CEX is giving NFT creators the chance to mint, display, and auction their work. The platform brings together artists, creators, and crypto enthusiasts on one platform to create and trade top NFTs.

The winner of the tournament which takes place in August on Virtu Poker will get a seat to the 2021 World Series of Poker Main Event in October in Las Vegas and will be given $50,000 to donate to the charity of their choice.

Everybody has got to be good at something and there is no doubt that CZ is the king of coding, but how will he fare against the superman of Poker?  Stay tuned to find out.
