The cryptocurrency market has been moving sideways especially for Bitcoin which has crashed significantly from the 2019 high of over $13,000 to the current $9,000s.

While the crypto community is hoping things will turn around soon and Bitcoin will start rising to a new high for the year, the crypto analyst known on Twitter as The Crypto Dog says this is not likely at least for the next two months.

Alts may take advantage

The analyst says the months of August and September may pass before Bitcoin hits a new high in 2019. However, he is optimistic that ETH, XRP and other altcoins could see some major price boost during the time. He added that altcoins have been preparing for such as time and this could be an opportunity for altcoin holders to recover from losses due to the 2018 bear market.

This he said despite the idea that an alts season is not likely to come. Indeed, some altcoin enthusiasts have been looking forward to an alt season as Bitcoin has risen pretty high and most people would have preferred to buy at a much lower price than it is even as it has dipped from the $13,000 price.

A few alts or all?

While there are other analysts who share the optimism that an alts season is possible, it is still unclear if it will apply to all altcoins or just a few. If it applies to all then it may be easy for altcoin holders to take profits. If only a few will benefit however, it might take some time to see which ones are favored and key into their price surge.

If The Crypto Dog is right, the months of August and September will be counted out of any significant progress that Bitcoin makes in 2019. As the 2020 halving approaches, significant price progress is anticipated as the commencement of a bull market that will precede the halving. If the forecast is anything to go by, It will be only three months to the end of the year, will Bitcoin manage to impress its holders and enthusiasts?
