Trevor George Smith Jr., aka Busta Rhymes, is the latest prominent figure promoting Bitcoin through pro-crypto statements on social media. The rap icon revealed that the recently-concluded B Word conference inspired him to take the leap and invest in the world’s oldest cryptocurrency.

The BTC Bandwagon Now Includes Busta Rhymes

In a series of Tweet earlier on Thursday, Busta Rhymes indicated that he had made the decision to officially become a bitcoin HODLer “after watching the B conference live”, with Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey, Tesla CEO Elon Musk, and ARK Invest Cathies Wood taking the stage to demystify bitcoin. “I’m sold on bitcoin,” the 49-year-old rapper declared.

When asked what his favorite part of the bitcoin event was, Busta Rhymes posited:

“When you have brilliant minds coming together through an unfiltered source. I like that. Speaks directly to me. They all are using it and more importantly holding it.”

Notably, Musk revealed for the first time during the Wednesday conference that his aerospace company SpaceX holds bitcoin. His electric car maker company Tesla, whose $1.5 billion BTC investment was announced in February, still holds the cryptocurrency in its treasury. Moreover, the eccentric CEO and provocateur said he personally owns BTC, Ethereum, and, unsurprisingly, Dogecoin (given he frequently tweets about the meme coin and crowned himself the Dogefather).

As for Busta Rhymes, he has confirmed that he will be “looking into ETH next” since he is now invested in BTC. He further commented on the B conference: “MY BIGGEST TAKEAWAY WAS THIS…The way @elonmusk phrased this statement has got me seriously thinking… especially what’s been happening around the world recently. Government and it’s monopoly on Violence… damnnn.”

Busta Rhymes And Cryptocurrency

This is not the first time Busta Rhymes has addressed crypto.

The American rapper tweeted about cryptocurrency on July 14, asking his approximately 3.8 million followers whether any of them was into crypto. He didn’t stop there.

He went on to reply to a post by former heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson where he asked his fans if they prefer bitcoin or ethereum. At the time, outspoken bitcoin supporters, including MicroStrategy’s Michael Saylor and Dorsey responded to Tyson’s tweet.

Busta Rhymes is considered a legendary figure in the entertainment industry. His personal net worth is estimated at $20 million as of 2021.
